Georgia Northwestern Honors Accomplishments Of First Team, Program

Heading into the weekend, Georgia Northwestern has just eight games left to improve its seeding in the NJCAA Region XVII tournament in March.  However, the Bobcat Men’s Basketball program will be honoring a different number during their game Saturday night. This season marks the fifth anniversary of the birth of the college’s first varsity program back in 2007.
At halftime of the Bobcat basketball game versus Macon State Saturday, Georgia Northwestern will recognize and honor the members of the first team and its special accomplishment in that inaugural season. Tim McKeever (LFO), Brandon Harris and Nate Smith (LaFayette), Manny Davis (Ridgeland), Anthony Lumpkin (Ringgold), and Casey Day, Matt Hill, Dustin Rosser, and Bud Todd (Trion) made up the final squad for the first men’s roster for the college. This team went a perfect 11-0 for the pilot schedule.
Many will remember that the college had a second squad in its first year, as well. Both helped set the stage for what is now known as NJCAA’s Region XVII Division III.
The Cats games with Macon State tips-off at 6:30 p.m. with the tribute taking place at halftime. All GNTC’ers receive free admission with i.d.
Be sure to come out and show your support of this special event.
