(Rome, Georgia) – Georgia Northwestern put their 2-2 mark on the line at the Winthrop-King Center Tuesday night with non-region opponent, Cleveland State (TN).
A slow start to open the game left both teams looking for answers early. However, the Lady Cougars would go on a run to build a 14-point lead going into the intermission, 33-19.
In spite of Kiara Parks and Keesha Wise’s 15 points a pop, the Lady Cats would fall to the Lady Cougars, 80-57. Parks would go nine-of-nine from the free-throw line, adding five steals and five assists. Wise would reject three shots on defense.
Cleveland State’s Hannah Brown would also score 15 points in leading the Lady Cougars (2-3) to their second win of the season.
One noticeable absence in the Georgia Northwestern (2-3) line-up was freshman Alyssa Nichelson. The Canton, Georgia product is out with an illness and is listed as questionable for Thursday night’s home game with Oakwood University (AL).
