On July 18, 2013 friends and family gathered at the Conference Center in the Health Building located on Georgia Northwestern Technical College’s Floyd County Campus to honor the students graduating from the Certified Customer Service Specialist program.
During the ceremony, 15 students graduated after completing the certificate program. More than 100 people were in attendance at the ceremony.
Beverly Padgett, instructor of speech and director of the Service Industry Academy at GNTC, spoke at the ceremony.
“Being a Certified Customer Service Specialist will open many doors for these graduates,” said Padgett. “They have enhanced their skills in leadership, face to face and telephone interactions, focusing on both internal and external customers, business communications, positive work ethic, customer expectations, and professionalism.”
In closing, Padgett said that the skills and knowledge students gained from the program will continue to be beneficial whether they decide to enter the workforce or continue their education.
“They understand that 67percent of people will choose where they do business based on how they are treated, so every interaction counts,” said Padgett. “They know that customers will tell others about their experience so they want every experience to be the very best.”
