(Rossville, GA) – Sophomore Holly Mount and freshman Victoria Sprouse each bombed Oakwood University with 14 kill shots in Georgia Northwestern’s season finale Tuesday night. However, after dropping game one, the Lady Ambassadors would storm back to win the next three games and win the event, 18-25, 26-24, 25-19, 25-20.
“Fallon (Larmon) and Candice (McClain) played extremely well for us tonight and throughout the season,” said Georgia Northwestern’s Women’s Head Volleyball Coach Carrie Powell. “They handled a lot of back line duties for this team and they really left it all on the court,” said Powell about her only two players to have played last year and this year for the Lady Cats.
Freshman Rachel McGill (Ringgold) locked in for five kills and 35 assists in the best-of-five match-up. Fellow freshman Layna Jenkins added five kills of her own on the night.
Georgia Northwestern closes out the 2013 campaign with a 6-14 mark, dropping the last two series of the season. For information on all Cats Country intercollegiate athletic programs, check out BobcatsCountry.com, e-mail the Office of Sports Information at email@example.com, or call (706) 764-3813.
