Lady Cats Set Sights On Music City This Weekeend



(Cleveland, TN) – Freshman Lady Cat Brecia Hall (Coosa) led the way for Georgia Northwestern as they hit the Volunteer State Tuesday night for their 2013-14 season opener at Cleveland State. Hall would lead with 17 points and six boards in the effort which saw the Lady Cougars take the game, 90-49.

Cleveland, Tennessee-native Kiarra Parks (Pepperell) highlighted her homecoming with seven points, four assists, two steals, and three boards in the non-region loss against the NJCAA Division I opponent.

Georgia Northwestern (0-1) would shoot 70-percent from the charity stripe in the loss. However, the Lady Cats would be held to 27-percent from the field in the opener at L. Quention Lane Gymnasium.

The Lady Vikings (2-0) would be lead by freshman Aysia Grimsley (Marietta, GA) with 13 points in the win over the Lady Cats. Freshman Forward Jamesha Mosley (Hopkinsville, KY) would make the most headlines from her post position with seven steals, seven points, and four assists.

Georgia Northwestern and Cleveland State both hit I-40 West on Friday night for a pair of November road games. The Lady Cats will take part in the Welch College Invitational in Nashville, Tennessee. Cleveland State will visit West Tennessee to battle it out with TJCCAA opponent Dyersburg State.
