(The R.A.C., Rossville, GA) – After grabbing the Cats first lead of the game with a 30-foot-buzzer-beating three-pointer from freshman Veshawn Bell (Rome, GA), the Crown College Royal Crusaders would roar into the lead in the second half and never look back. Crusader forward Billy Aristide would lead the way with 22 points and 13 rebounds in route to the 75-63 win over Georgia Northwestern Monday night at the Rossville Athletic Complex (R.A.C.).

Bobcat starters Tavish Reynolds (Calhoun, GA) and Devin Watkins (Cedartown, GA) would lead the way for Georgia Northwestern cleaning the home nets for 15 points a pop. Reynolds would go 5-of-8 (63%) from beyond the three-point line. Sophomore starter Richard Olsen (Calhoun, GA) would add 11 points in the home loss. A bright spot off the bench was 6-foot-5 freshman post reserve Dustin Stanley (Tunnel Hill, GA) who would add nine points and pull down eight rebounds in his sub role in the non-conference contest.

Aggressive defense and multiple full-court press scenarios led to five first-half turnovers against the Crusaders. 94-feet of pressure would keep the Cats close throughout the opening stanza and allow Georgia Northwestern to take a three-point lead into the break, 32-29. The NCCAA’s Crusaders would outscore Georgia Northwestern by 15 points, 46-31, in the final twenty minutes of play.
