Georgia Northwestern Plays Two In Saturday’s Food Drive Event
(Northwest Georgia) – Georgia Northwestern NJCAA All-Region First-Teamer Alyssa Nichelson (Creekview HS, GA) has been named the women’s basketball player of the week in Georgia.
The Division III sophomore standout turned up her game on the road in match-ups at Southern Union (Wadley, AL) and Toccoa Falls (Toccoa, GA). The 5-foot-8 nursing major averaged 23 points, 11 rebounds, two assists, and five steals in NJCAA play last week.
Nichelson, a Canton, Georgia native, was a key member of Creekview High School’s Elite Eight team in the 2011-12 GHSA season.
The Bobcats and Lady Cats will next hit the floor on Saturday at the Rossville Athletic Complex (R.A.C.) beginning at 2 p.m. for a special food drive game. Receive free admission by bringing at least one non-perishable food donation to go to The Care Mission based in LaFayette, Georgia. The Lady Cats start things off by hosting Welch College (TN). The Bobcats will play immediately following against NJCAA Region XVII opponent West Georgia Tech.
The Lady Cats have four regular-season games remaining between now and the NJCAA Region XVII Tournament at Emory-Oxford in Oxford, Georgia.
