(Rome, GA) – Two-time defending NJCAA Region XVII champion Georgia Northwestern capped off the 2013-14 regular season with a home loss to the nation’s seventh-ranked team in West Georgia Tech.
With the win, the Lady Golden Knights take the season series. Led By Kierra Smith, West Georgia Tech took the regular-season title with the 84-55 win over the Lady Cats. Sunday’s game also served as Georgia Northwestern’s “Pink” game to benefit breast cancer research. NJCAA Region XVII All-First Teamers Kiarra Parks and Alyssa Nichelson combined for 35 points in the Lady Cat loss.
The same two teams will square off again Sunday at 2 p.m. at Emory-Oxford in Oxford, Georgia in the NJCAA Region XVII title game. The winner will head to the regional round of the NJCAA National Tournament.
