(Northwest Georgia) – The Youth Success Academy (YSA) on the Floyd County Campus of Georgia Northwestern Technical College (GNTC) is offering a “Work Experience Opportunities” program for individuals between the ages of 18 and 24.
The program places participants in a paid, 40 hour a week job. Slots are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Orientation for the program will be held on March 21-22. Participants will work at a business for up to four months with the YSA paying their wages.
The YSA helps out-of-school youth get their GED, start college with many expenses covered, and begin their path to a successful career. It also offers many specialized services that will help students advance to further career training and find employment.
Some of the training and workshops that students can take advantage of include leadership skills, communication skills, fundamental work ethics, preparing a resume, career exploration and counseling, teamwork skills, and emphasizing productivity.
The Youth Success Academy is located on the Floyd and Walker County Campuses of GNTC. The hours of operation are 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
