Miguel Ramirez of Rome, Georgia is competing in Atlanta this week for the chance to win the Technical College System of Georgia’s top student award. Ramirez, a Business Management student at GNTC, first won the Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership (G.O.A.L.) honor for the college earlier this year. The win gave Ramirez the opportunity to compete across the state. State finalists will be announced later tonight. The state winner of the 2017 G.O.A.L. program will be announced Wednesday night.
GNTC Welding Instructor Jeremiah Cooper is also a finalist for the state’s 2017 Rick Perkins Award. The honor goes to the Technical College System of Georgia’s top instructor. Cooper is competing in Atlanta this week, as well. The state winner of the Perkins Award will also be announced Wednesday night.
