Georgia Northwestern Brings Home A Championship!

Ryan Banks (Whitfield County), Jesse Flanagan (Polk County), Gabriel Lopez (Bartow County), and Joel Paez (Whitfield County) are bringing back the hardware from the 2019 National SkillsUSA Competition in Louisville, Kentucky.

These four men are members of GNTC’s gold-medal winning TeamWorks squad. The team has two days to construct an 8×8 structure with complete masonry, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry details. From plan to completion, GNTC’s TeamWorks entry earned top honors in Bluegrass State this week.

Additionally, Gordon County’s Kimberlee Hall also earned her way to the medal stand as she took home the bronze with her third place finish nationally in the Practical Nursing category.

Other finalists for GNTC who competed in the national competition this week were Norberto Castaneda (Floyd County) – Industrial Control Motors, Brandon Neighbors (Catoosa County) – Automotive Service Technology, and Cole Allen (Chattooga County) – Residential Systems, and Josh Barlow (Floyd County) – Medical Terminology.

More on the championship performance, and all of the GNTC national finalists, next week.
