GNTC’s Waddington Named Coordinator of the Quarter
(Northwest Georgia) – With nearly 6,000 students across five different campuses in Northwest Georgia, Georgia Northwestern Technical College flows with huge results when Blood Assurance comes to call. Most recently, though, it was Georgia Northwestern Technical College Student Life Coordinator Dione Waddington who reaped rewards.
The 17-year employee of the state of Georgia college was named a Coordinator of the Quarter by Blood Assurance of Chattanooga for her efforts in coordinating blood drives in five different counties. “Our students always take the opportunity to give back in so many ways,” said Waddington. “It’s one of the best parts of my job to be able to arrange these kinds of opportunities, not only for our students, but for our neighbors across the region. It’s a special relationship our college has with Blood Assurance.”
Blood Assurance representatives chose Waddington from a group of more than 600 Drive Coordinators who hosted blood drives in the region these past three months. Blood Assurance awards the honor to volunteer coordinators that go above and beyond the normal expectations of a coordinator. “Dione (Waddington) has been great in spreading the word on the college’s campuses,” said Libby Phillips, Director of Donor Recruitment at Blood Assurance. “Her efforts have helped us increase donation at Georgia Northwestern by 40%.”
Waddington, a University of Tennessee at Chattanooga graduate from 1995, first joined the college as an instructor in 1998. For more information on Blood Assurance and the role they play at Georgia Northwestern, contact Mrs. Waddington at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at 706.764.3821.
Approximately 16,000 people benefit from GNTC’s credit and noncredit programs, making it the largest college in Northwest Georgia and the fifth largest technical college in Georgia. Georgia Northwestern offers classes on-campus or online throughout the year. GNTC serves Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade, Floyd, Gordon, Murray, Polk, Walker, and Whitfield counties in Georgia with campuses located in Floyd, Gordon, Polk, Walker, and Whitfield counties.
