Since 1962, Georgia Northwestern Technical College has provided degrees, diplomas, and certificates in business, health, industrial, or public service career paths. This past year, 13,734 people benefited from GNTC’s credit and noncredit programs. With an annual credit enrollment of 7,876 students, GNTC is the largest college in Northwest Georgia. GNTC has an additional enrollment of 5,858 people through adult education, continuing education, business and industry training, and Georgia Quick Start.

GNTC Takes National Stage In Louisville, First For Georgia

(Louisville, KY) – For the first time ever, the state of Georgia is competing in the TeamWorks competition at the National SkillsUSA Competition in Louisville, Kentucky this week. It is all part of the 52nd Annual National Leadership and Skills Conference (NLSC).

The TeamWorks competition consists of completing projects from a set of plans given to teams right before the event begins. The plans consists of assignments including masonry, carpentry, electrical, and plumbing work involved in the building of a structure from start to finish.

The five-man team from Georgia Northwestern Technical College consists of Barry Arrington of Calhoun, Georgia; Tanner Boyd of Armuchee, Georgia; Bo Dooley of Calhoun, Georgia; Burt Burns of Lindale, Georgia; and Evan Brackett of Rome, Georgia.  In all, more than 6,000 (high school and collegiate) students from across the country will compete hands-on in more than a hundred various trade, technical, and leadership fields.

We will let you know how well this team finished in Louisville as soon as the results are in. Thank you for representing us on the national stage!
